Biography

Emma started her professional dance journey at Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts in Tilburg, the Netherlands. During her Dance Education studies she was able to work on her dance teaching skills as well as developping herself as a dancer and maker. After graduating in 2017 she felt the need to further develop herself as a perfomer so she went on to participate in the 5 month dance training program from the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company in Israël. During this time she learned a lot of company repertoire and she was able to take her performance skills to a higher level.

Back in the Netherlands Emma continued her development as a performer by taking lots of professional training classes at Henny Jurriëns Studio Amsterdam. She also started teaching modern/contemporary, classical ballet and streetdance classes to students of various age groups. As a dance maker she created a solo called ''Get Back'' and worked with a group of theatre students to create a piece with them for the YET project (see Projects page). She danced with New Choreographic Design Company for their premiere piece ''Universal''.

Emma is an inspired, energetic teacher with an eye for the growth of the student. Because of her personal approach she manages to stimulate the students creativity whilst developing their dancing skills. When performing she is authentic, intriguing and always adds a piece of herself in her performance. And as a dance maker Emma is constantly exploring and experimenting with themes like time, reality and identity.
This year she is going to focus on this exploration by attending the Bachelor Choreography Study at Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts in Tilburg.
